a Christmas card...

I'm back again, this time with my DT card for Fab 'n' Funky it's the last Wednesday of the month so this week it's a Christmas theme...anything goes as long as it's Christmas! I always intend to get ahead with making Christmas cards, but rarely do, so this is a great challenge for me! I used a sweet little Mo image which I never got around to colouring before, she reminds me of my adorable Emily!
I coloured her with copics and added loads of stickles to her hat, the ink ran...I added more stickles...the ink ran...you get the picture! The dp was free with a magazine, I added a die cut holly bough, a ribbon and a cute little Santa hat brad.
Now I know my lovely teamies have created some beautiful projects to inspire you this week so please hop over here to take a look (it'd be rude not to :). Why not join in? It'd be one less card to make when Christmas gets closer and you could be the lucky winner of a fabulous prize from our lovely sponsor All About Beads

Well, hello there...

...time for a new challenge at Creative Moments and as always it's 'Anything Goes' with an optional twist of using this colour inspiration-
We are sponsored by Deedee's Digis and I chose to use this cute Pocket Pal Teddy which came coloured and uncoloured with loads of sentiments and digital papers...great value! I decided to use a pre coloured version as it fitted well with the colour chart, I printed the bear and pocket 3 times so that I could decoupage his head and paws. I stuck the image to the pink diecut circles with pinflair glue to add more dimension. The dp  came with the image and so did the sentiment. I added a glittery heart button  and 2 tiny green  buttons to finish. This was a quick and easy card to make...no colouring involved! Thanks for visiting, hope you'll be tempted to join us this fortnight.

Aurora Daisy

Good afternoon, hope all are well and enjoying what's left of the weekend! Myself, I have had a lovely couple of days, yesterday met my son and baby granddaughter for lunch then spent a couple of hours with them in a soft play activity centre. It's so wonderful to see little Emily developing her skills and confidence, she's not quite walking yet but it doesn't stop her climbing everywhere and she's so happy interacting with other children! Today I went to a craft show with my sister, I personally think I showed considerable restraint with my spending...others may disagree :)
My card today is made using a gorgeous digi from The East Wind,  she's called Aurora Daisy and is available here. I really enjoyed colouring this beauty with my copics. I added a tiny braid to her hair made from embroidery floss... I think it suits her! Her earrings are trimmed with tiny pieces of a feather. The brown half doily is felt. I attached a  small bunch of feathers (real and die cut) with a little daisy brad and some punched daisies. The sentiment stamp is LOTV.

Thanks for visiting!
Have a good evening.

In a word...

Good morning, fancy a new challenge? Well, you're in luck as there's one starting over at Southern Girls today, the theme is 'words' so that gives you loads of scope! I need some 'male' cards, there's so many men in my family with birthdays in May (so inconsiderate of them to be born in the same month, could have spread themselves out a bit more...8 male cards in one month is a bit much...). I decided to go for something quick and simple (for obvious reasons!) so I used a Woodware Happy Birthday stamp which I stamped onto cream cardstock, fussy cut and embossed. I stamped it again onto my background dp and glued the cut out version on top. I cut a yacht from the dp and used sticky pads to position it on top of the 'H', added a simple die cut frame and a red button!
Thank you so much for visiting, I hope you'll join us at Southern Girls this fortnight, we'd love to see your interpretation of this challenge. Just click here to check out the inspiration from my talented teamies and to add your link! Our sponsor for this challenge is Imagine If.

Have a lovely day!

In the secret garden

Hellooo and happy weekend! There's a new challenge starting today over at Sweet Stampin' and this week we don't want you to share your cards with us.... but anything else stamped would be lovely! The theme 'anything but a card', sponsored by The Ribbon Girl, so it's time to put your thinking caps on and get creative! A little while ago I bought some templates from House of Zandra and this challenge inspired me to actually use one of them- the Book Giftbox Template. I constructed the box from white cardstock, all the insides are inked and stamped (I thoroughly enjoyed this part!)

The outside of the box is covered with dp and I also cut some images from the dp, the butterflies, bee and the frog to add to the design. The fairy is a very old stamp which has been coloured with copics and fussy cut to live inside the box. I added various die cuts and some lowers and pearls to finish. I'm planning to make a smallish memory album to put inside (when I get around to it :)
Thanks for visiting today, I hope you'll find the time to pop over to Sweet Stampin'   _there are some beautiful projects from the rest of the team for you to enjoy!
Have a lovely weekend

Your biggest fan!

Hello, back again for my second (scheduled) post today! This time it's my DT card for Fab 'n' Funky.
It's my turn to host the challenge this week and I got to choose the theme! As I always need 'male' cards, I have five brothers as well as a husband, son, SIL, loads of nephews, great-nephews not to mention friends... you get the picture... I chose 'masculine'. We're sponsored by Doodle Pantry who have loads of the most amazing images many of them so suitable for male themed cards! I chose to use Vintage Fan (thanks), which came with line images and coloured images, digi papers and loads of sentiments...excellent value and so versatile! I  used one of the pre-coloured images, one of the digi papers and a sentiment. A quick and easy 'man' card.
As it was so quick, I made another...again using a pre-coloured image, and a sentiment. The bunting is cut from the remains of the digi paper I printed for my first card, the candle paper is a magazine freebie!
I hope you liked my cards, I was very pleased at how quickly these came together!
Now, I'm sure that you all need to make some cards for the men in your life, so why not take the opportunity to join in this week, you never know, you could be the lucky winner of some of these clever and versatile images. Just click here to add your link and to see what my talented teamies have created this week.
Have a great day!

Spring or Easter at Creative Moments

Good morning, this is a scheduled post as I am away from home at the moment. My 2 little granddaughters wanted to have a sleepover (total misnomer) at Auntie Jenny's to 'help' with baby Emily - they are desperate to bath her (Emily not Auntie Jenny). I thought it might be too much for Jenny to cope with on her own -especially if they decide they want to go home in the middle of the night- so I decided to go too...it will be lovely to have all three of my granddaughters together!

Our challenge at Creative Moments this fortnight is sponsored by the fabulous Rick St Dennis, who wouldn't want to win some of his gorgeous images!!! The theme is Easter or Spring. I chose to use this beautiful lady (thank you very much), she's coloured with copics, and die cut. The birdcage is a Marianne die - one of the first dies I ever bought, the butterflies are Sizzix, sentiment from LOTV. I added some flowers a little birdcage charm and a fancy corner. Thanks for calling by, I hope you'll be able to join us at Creative Moments - remember we're an 'Anything Goes' challenge so you don't have to stick to the theme.

hello

Hello, hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend and have now recovered from chocolate overload!
Just a quick post from me today with a card I made over the weekend using a lovely East Wind digi that I won a few weeks ago and have been itching to colour! I used a mixture of copics and polychromos with a touch of glitter pen on her jewellery. As the image is big and bold I kept the card design quite simple.
Thanks for looking!

...just a little piece of paper..

Good morning and happy Easter! Here's hoping for some sunshine to make the long weekend even more enjoyable. It's been a busy week for me, I spent quite a lot of time with my Mum and sister... my brother had a few days away and they needed someone to walk his very energetic, young border collie, still I got plenty of exercise! I then had  my little granddaughters overnight (definitely not calling it a sleepover as Livvy had a bug and I spent more time changing bedding and comforting her than I did sleeping!) -could have been worse, at least she was ok the next morning! Amazing how children bounce back isn't it! Pity it takes me a lot longer to recover from a sleepless night!
Anyways, back to the card which is my DT card for this weeks challenge at Sweet Stampin', sponsored by Live and Love Crafts-the theme is paper piecing...yay!!! I love a bit of paper piecing! I bought some stamps at a recent papercraft show from a company I hadn't heard of before -House of Zandra- I was very taken with them thinking they would be great for paper piecing (which they are...) they're quite large and quite simple. I coloured the girl with copics and paper pieced her jacket and 2 of the flowers, with a tiny scrap of LOTV pink dotted paper which I couldn't bear to throw away, added a couple of die cut leaves and a LOTV sentiment, so quite a quick and easy card to make!

Thank you for taking the time to visit, hope you'll be tempted to join us this week, just click here

Have a wonderful Easter weekend.

Lots of Layers

Hi, it's me! Back again already, this time with my DT card for this week's challenge at Fab 'n' Funky!, the theme of  which, as you may have guessed, is 'Lots of Layers'.  This week it's the lovely Jools'  turn to host and choose.
To make my card I used a cute image by Dilly Beans, coloured her with copics and matted her onto a die cut stitched rectangle of green card, in turn layered over a pink rectangle. The black square is embossed with tiny hearts,  snippets of dp from stash (no idea of name!) I added a die cut swirl and corner, some buttons and a tiny bow1 I think there are 8 layers if you don't count the base card!
There's a great prize to be won from our lovely sponsor this week, Di's Digi's, so why not join in with your own lovely layered creation!
Thanks for visiting today!

Bucket of flowers

Hi everyone, seems a long time since I've blogged as I've been on holiday and my last 2 posts were scheduled! We enjoyed a lovely break in a very comfortable cottage in Wiltshire. Mathilda (my Great Dane) particularly enjoyed chasing the pheasants from the garden, the sofa (I did cover it) and the underfloor heating! Even the weather was good to us, it only rained once and the n not for too long!
Today sees the start of our new challenge at Creative Moments, this fortnight the theme is 'anything but a card' which is always a challenge for me! I decided to make a little gift for my lovely friend who always keeps an eye on the house when we're away so I took this little bucket,

which I think once held toiletries, and made a wrapper to decorate it
the tag is made using a sweet image from Art by Miran, (our Sponsor for this challenge) she's called Pansie and is available here.
I filled it with compost and some tete-a- tete narcissus.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you'll be tempted to join us this fortnight, just click here to be transported to Creative Moments where you can enjoy the rest of the DTs lovely creations and add your own fabulous project!
