Here comes Santa!

Merry Christmas! Only one more sleep to go!
This week's theme at Sweet Stampin' Challenges is totally appropriate it's 'Santa' . This is the card I made for my Mum to give to one of my brothers, the fabulous Santa image is from Make it Crafty, I just love his grin ! Coloured with copics and matted onto black cardstock, very simple card design, the message on the tag is computer generated. The Ho Ho Ho was a freebie stamp with Craft Stamper Magazine possibly last Christmas!
Well I'm sure everyone will be super busy for a few days but when all the fuss has died down and you have time to chill you might just want play along! Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Funky Kits another great company which is sadly closing it's doors.

Anyway, my friends, thanks for stopping by and I'd like to take the opportunity to wish all of you a fantastic Christmas and a very happy New Year.

A tag

Phew, I've finally managed to finish my Christmas cards, all written and posted at last! Presents all wrapped too, so beginning to feel that I'm on top of things. So, today I rewarded myself with a little 'just for me' play! I made this mixed media tag, using all kinds of lovely messy stuff! This is actually 2 kraft tags glued together, the top one has been painted with gesso,  distressed, inked and stencilled with blue distress ink (the stencilling doesn't really show much as I went a bit wild with the frontage!) I also used white sand texture paste through a diamond patterned stencil, then coloured it brown with distress ink. The image is from The East Wind, available here, I've just used a part of it. Flowers from stash, die cuts, lace ribbon and twine....I've thrown the lot on! So much fun ...and NOT a Christmas card!
Thanks for popping in...hope you're all looking forward to the big day!

Glitter and Sparkle

Back again already with my DT card for this week's challenge at Fab N Funky, sponsored by the fabulous AuroraWings the theme is glitter and sparkle. Time being precious right now, I used a gorgeous image (Spirit of Hibiscus) I was lucky enough to win some time ago and had already coloured.  My design is very simple, matted red and black cardstock , the black has a lovely shimmer, a circular aperture die cut through all the layers with the image peeking out. I added a couple of stamped hibiscus flowers, also coloured with copics and fussy cut. The die cut bow ( I'll always love this die!) is Memory Box. I went over the flowers very liberally with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen (I know it doesn't show in the photo! :( gold stickles to the flower stamens.

you can see the sparkle a bit in this photo if you try hard!

This is the last Fab N Funky Challenge before Christmas, it would be lovely if you find the time to join us!
Thanks for visiting

Anything goes at Creative Moments

It's the last challenge of 2016 at Creative Moments...and anything goes! Again I've made a Christmas card....still slogging away at them! I've used a sweet image from Lacy Sunshine one of our lovely sponsors this fortnight . I coloured with copics, cut her out and placed her in an oval frame which is mounted onto a tent fold card. I added a die cut Tim Holtz lamp post, some die cut poinsettias and a gold ribbon.
Very rushed post as I've had a frantic couple of days and am just waiting for my granddaughters arrive, they have no school tomorrow as it's a staff training day...unfortunately their Mum teaches in a different school so they're staying with me tonight!
Please click here to visit the main challenge blog for the details of this challenge.

Crafty Calendar...it's Christmas time!

Well, December has arrived...3 days into the Advent calendar already! Christmas will very soon be upon us...and then gone in a flash! My son is getting married on the 29th so there'll be much excitement in our household...even more than usual!
Our new challenge, starting today at Crafty Calendar has the theme of 'Christmas Time' and is sponsored by SamiStamps, who very generously allowed the DT to choose an image each. I picked Candy Cane Elf, such a cute image and a delight to colour. I thought the sentiment matched the card perfectly...(rocking...Candy cane...get it?:))
There's some wonderful inspiration from my lovely teamies over on the Challenge Blog, we'd love it if you stop by and take a look..and add some inspiration of your own for us to enjoy!

Christmas is coming...

Good morning on this last day of November! Christmas is coming and it's coming very fast! Although I've been much more organised this year and made some of my cards well in advance there still seems to be a lot to make! I'm sure many of you are in the same boat so come on over and join us at Fab N Funky this week. As usual, on the last Wednesday of the month, the theme is 'Christmas'. We are sponsored by Live and Love Crafts...you might want to pop over and check out their closing down sale too!
This card was quick to make as I coloured in the image ages ago...and it disappeared into the crafty mess abyss, found it when I was looking for something else....Anyway I made it into a circle easel card, just added a few die cuts!
Thanks for visiting today, hope you come and play with us.

Christmas angel

Good evening, a quick post from me with a 'just because' card. Life has been quite hectic lately and I've struggled to keep up with DT commitments, let alone make anything extra. However I've finally caught up and even had time to make some Christmas cards :) This one is using a cute image I was lucky enough to win some time ago...Hug me, from QKR Stampede, she looks so cute and cuddly! coloured her with copics and a gold sparkle pen for her wings...haven't a clue why her boots look purple in the photo...they're actually dark red...The papers are First Edition, Jingle All The Way, I added die cuts, Nuvo drop berries and a button.
Thanks for looking

Sweet Stampin' Challenges...got the blues

Happy Saturday! This week over at Sweet Stampin' Challenges our theme is 'got the blues'.
I made a Christmas card using a fabulous stamp from Inkylicious, it's a kind of negative stamp as it stamps the background and leaves the image white. I stamped it using distress inks, I love the 'snowy feel' this gives. Simple design too ( so nice and quick!. Just added a bow (recycled ribbon from some packaging) and a die cut sentiment.
I made some more cards too, using the same stamp....

Thanks for taking the time to visit today, much appreciated at this busy time of year!  I hope you can spare a few minutes to hop over here and see what the Sweeties have been up to this week. It would be lovely to see what you make for this theme too...there's a fabulous prize on offer from Live and Love Crafts, don't miss out on their closing down sale!

Christmas candles

Good morning, another fortnight has flown past and I'm here with my DT card for the new challenge at Creative Moments.  I used a beautiful image from Digistamps4joy, one of fabulous sponsors for this challenge. I coloured these lovely festive candles with my copics and a touch of sparkle pen , die cut into a circle and mounted onto gold card. I created a tag shaped card and covered it with red dp embossed the edges with gold embossing powder. I added some die cuts, a few pearls and attached a gold bow with a little tree brad..
Apologies for the photos, had to use a flash and it reflected from the red paper which has a lovely sheen to it.
As I'm desperately adding to my Christmas card stash I made another card using the same image and papers

This fortnight there's no optional twist to the challenge...anything goes...so why not go for it! Click here to see what my teamies have been up to...and to add your own  beautiful creation.

Photo Inspiration at Sweet Stampin'

reflections - kids - rain - water:

This week at Sweet Stampin' we have a Photo Inspiration Challenge for you....this lovely picture brings back fun memories for me of when my children were small! Dressing them up in their 'wet gear' on a chilly rainy day and letting them run wild in the huge puddles in our local park. We got some strange looks from passers by as they'd be soaking wet (on the outside!) and covered in mud, but once the splash suits and wellies were off they'd be clean (ish) and dry , back in the warm car ready to go home. We had such fun...they loved a wet day in the park. After all that's what puddles are for!

Anyway, here's my card
I'm not very pleased with how it's photographed...the yellow background card is a much nicer colour IRL but his is the best I could get!  The little girl stamp is Whipper Snapper and the raindrops stamp is from a collection of rubber background stamps -Designs by Ryn.
Thanks for visiting, please stop by the Challenge Blog to see what my lovely teamies have made and we'd love to have you join the fun this week, just remember to include some stamping in your creation!

Anything goes with the Southern Girls

Good morning, late again with this post, I've been struggling to catch up all week! This card is for the current challenge at Southern Girls....better late than never! The theme this fortnight is the favourite...Anything Goes. We're sponsored for this by Polkadoodles and Crafts and Me, both these companies were very generous in providing images for the DT to use, so thanks for that :)
My image is from Polkadoodles -called Octavia-Moonfly unicorn. I loved colouring this magical image, I chose soft blues, purples and aqua with plenty of added glitter. There is so much detail in this image that I kept the card design simple, just adding some die cuts a pretty sparkly ribbon and a few pearls. Thanks for visiting today, although my card is a tad late there is still plenty of time for you to join us this challenge...just click here to hop over to Southern Girls Challenges and see what Team Trace have made to inspire you!
Must rush, still loads to do this morning, then I'm meeting my daughter for lunch!

Creative Moments - thanks!

Good morning, I'm running a little late but here's my DT make for this fortnight's challenge at Creative Moments. The optional theme this time is 'thanks/give thanks' and we have 4 great sponsors;- Angie's Digi stamps                      Rick St Dennis
                Melonheadz                                    Polkadoodles
so plenty of chances to win a lovely prize !
I was given a lovely bundle of images from Melonheadz to play with, I chose the black/white version so I could choose my own colours. There are loads of these cute kid images in this bundle and  I chose  to use the three that reminded me most of my little granddaughters to make a batch of thank you cards to put in their Christmas stockings. I kept the design very simple, just changing the colours of DP to match the images, which are coloured with copics.  I was hoping to make some little boxes or folders to put them in but time ran out, something to be getting on with next week! I love that their Mums think it's important to encourage them to  thank people properly for the gifts they've received, it's too often forgotten these days!

Anything goes at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'

Happy Wednesday! Over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' it's time for the penultimate challenge of 2016....how scary is that! Only 46 sleeps to go....
The theme this month is 'Anything goes' - as long as it's Christmas related of course. I chose to decorate an MDF wooden stand up word that I bought at a craft fair over a year ago.
I covered the letters in some DP which looked too bright for the effect I wanted, so I painted over it with some white chalk paint, rubbed it about a bit with some sandpaper and painted the edges with red chalk paint, sanded that too until it had a more 'aged' appearance. The base is covered in  Snow Tex paint. I knitted the little Santa hat, and made a tiny sack from a scrap of hessian...kinitting and sewing in one project...unheard of for me! To finish I threaded some tiny bells on a piece of twine and added a couple of wooden snowflakes.
I was trying to decide which of granddaughters to give this to when my sister came to visit and  gleefully made off with it....problem solved :))
We have a wonderful sponsor this month, Marianne Designs, so be sure to create something Christmassy and play along! Just click here to enjoy some lovely inspiration from my fellow CaSSettes, and to add your own fabulous creations.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day

Crafty Calendar November Challenge- Autumn Colours

Good morning, a quick post from me as I'm sooo busy this weekend! It's our annual non-firework-rent- a -noisy- crowd-party tonight! We invite a load of friends round to distract Mathilda from the horrible bangs and crashes of the fireworks! Have to admit she is nowhere near as frightened as her predecessor- our beloved Maisie was absolutely petrified and I spent many a bonfire night under the table...encased in a blanket...with a trembling and horrified Great Dane! Mathilda is made of sterner stuff, we encourage her to bark and get excited rather than to be frightened, and having a crowd around really seems to help! I feel so sorry for the animals this time of year especially when some of the fireworks are so loud...makes me jump, goodness knows how they feel! Thank goodness for understanding friends!
Anyway...back to the card....this month's challenge at Crafty Calendar is sponsored by Crafty Ribbons and Lawn Fawn, the theme is Autumn Colours. The image I used is from Digistamps Atelier. Colouring medium is Copics. the leaves are stamped and die cut using a magazine freebie, papers were a freebie too (different magazine!)and again colored with Copics, stamped sentiment is Lawn Fawn. Hope you'll find the time to play along with us this month, just click here to see what my lovely teamies have created to inspire you, and to add your own beautiful creation.
Have a fabulous weekend, and for those of you celebrating Guy Fawkes night in the UK...stay safe and look after your pets!

Smile

Good morning, hope your week is going well so far! Halloween's over, bonfire night's almost here and it'll be Christmas before we know it...this year has just flown by! Once again it's time for a new challenge at Fab N Funky, this week we're sponsored by A Day for Daisies and it's Ginny's turn to host, she's picked the lovely theme of 'animals'.
The DT were allowed to pick an image each, very generous!, it took me ages (there are loads!) but eventually I decided on this adorable little chap, he's called Little man giraffe and he's available here.
I coloured him with copics, fussy cut him and added a ribbon bow over his own. A simple L/O with some added faux stitching. I bought a spiky wheel thingy to make the holes for the 'stitching' but had a spot of trouble controlling it, so it looks a bit wobbly...but my real stitching is like that anyway...gives the card a more authentic look :))
Thanks for visiting, just click here to see what my lovely teamies have made this week...and to add your own lovely creation of course.

Inspired by...

...a book, film or song...that's the theme of this week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin', sponsored this time by the fabulous  Crafts and Me.
I think my card probably speaks for itself as to what the inspirational song is!
I used a Hampton Art wooden stamp that I've had for years, still love this cute image though! I stamped it with dark brown ink  onto cream dp, coloured the bells on his harness gold and glittered his nose dark red.  This was so quick to make, the background dp is really glittery and pretty, all I added was the ribbon, bells and berry cluster!
So glad you popped by today, hope to see you play along with us at Sweet Stampin'  this week  and there's plenty more inspiration from my lovely teamies to be seen by clicking here!

Spooktacular!

The new challenge starting at Creative Moments today has the optional theme of 'spooktacular'. I made my DT card using a fun smiling spider digital  image courtesy of Eureka Stamps, one of our fabulous sponsors for this challenge....he's not really scary but apologies to any arachnophobics who may drop in...in fact here's a warning that this post is very spider-heavy! To make the front of my card I printed the spider quite large, coloured his eyes and mouth and drew around him with a bright green copic, then cut him out, he's mounted onto a strip of acetate which is attached between the layers on the card, so he bounces about a bit. The purple digi paper was a freebie, can't remember where from. The background is black cardstock with die cut cobweb s and a few googly eyes attached,  I tore some small pieces of cardstock, coloured with the green copic and stamped the sentiments.
To make the inside I printed the spider in various sizes (the beauty of using digis!)  onto some blue/purple paper, then used a die cut web as a stencil, the eyes are drawn with a white gel pen. My granddaughters loved this card!

There's some more spooktacular fun to be enjoyed  over at Creative Moments so why not hop over and take a look? We'd love to have you play along with us this challenge and there are some lovely prizes to be won from our fab sponsors this time, Eureka Stamps and Dr Digi.

East Wind Angel

Good evening, a quick post with a card I finally managed to finish...so many interruptions today! I used a beautiful image from the East Wind available here , to make a Christmas card. The L/O is a simple one using two pieces of metallic cardstock, one silver one blue, both embossed and arranged in a sunburst pattern. I die cut the image into a circle, allowing her wings to spread over the edges. I've coloured her with copics and added some delicate sparkle to her wings and hair with clear Wink of Stella. The sentiment is stamped and embossed.  It would have been quite quick to make if I hadn't had so many visitors today- but it was lovely to see them all.

Fabulous Flowers at Fab 'n' Funky

Good morning, hope your week is going well. It's time for a new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky, and a lovely one it is too! Hosted this week by our talented (and very busy!!) Wends who has picked the theme of 'Fabulous Flowers', of course flowery images and papers are acceptable but what she really wants to see are 'real' flowers...paper or fabric. This is the card I made for my granddaughters birthday, it's on Friday, only 2 more sleeps!!, and she'll be 7...excitement and anticipation has now reached fever pitch!
I chose this sweet Mo Manning image because it looks like Ruby with her long blond curls, also she loves 'girly dresses' and dressing up, I've used copics to colour and her dress is paper pieced. Papers and sentiment LOTV. I've added a couple of die cuts, afew pearls, a pretty organza ribbon and of course the flowers!  For more inspiration and to add your own floral creation please click here.
Our lovely Sponsor this week is Live and Love Crafts, sadly they are shutting up shop so a great opportunity to win some lovely stash before they're gone forever!

Spots and stripes at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning, there's much excitement over at Sweet Stampin' this week as our new challenge is sponsored by none other than
they're offering a generous £10 gift voucher for our lucky winner.
Who doesn't love these gorgeous stamps and digis!

The theme this week is spots and /or stripes , a lovely easy one with lots of scope.
To make my card I used one of my favourite ever LOTV images, Fairy Tiptoe, available here in rubber or here as a digi..
I already had the rubber stamp, but gave in to temptation and bought the digi as well (along with one or two others....) as I wanted a larger focal image for my design. I coloured her with copics and a Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen on her wings. All the papers are andthe little stamped sentiment are also from LOTV.
Thanks for visiting today, it'd be great if you hopped over here to check out the Challenge blog and take a look at the gorgeous makes from my lovely teamies...and even better if you join  us, you never know, that lucky winner could be you! ...just remember to include some stamping on your entry!

Use your dies and punches -Southern Girls #145

Good morning my lovely friends, followers and 'droppers in', hope your day has started well. I'm here with my DT card for our new challenge at Southern Girls, a lovely theme this fortnight and two fabulous sponsors! The theme is simple...use your dies and punches and the sponsors are Fairy Tangle Art and All Dressed Up, such gorgeous images from both of them. I was delighted to choose this beautiful Fairy Tangle image,Midsummer Dragonflies .....and really enjoyed colouring her with my copics. I used a Martha Stewart border punch, the  leaves and blue flowers are made from die cuts and the pink ones from punches. I used a magazine freebie stamp and die cut to create the dragonfly, his wings are made from acetate.
Please click here to be transported to the challenge blog, you'll be blown away by the fabulous creations of my teamies! Of course we'd love to have you play along so dig out those lovely  punches and  gorgeous dies and get creating!

Christmas at Sweet Stampin'...Glitz and sparkle!

Hi, back again with my card for October's challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin', now I don't want to worry anyone but there are only two more challenges after this until Christmas!!! This time we'd like to see lots of lovely sparkle on your Christmas Creations.
I used a beautiful image from The Paper Shelter which I've coloured with copics and sparkle pens, there is lots of sparkle on her dress but can't get it to show in the photo! The ribbon is sparkly too...but guess what, that doesn't show either :( Image and papers matted onto glitter card and tiny gems added to the embossed background panel and dp.
Thanks for visiting today, there's some fabulous sparkly creations from my lovely teamies to be enjoyed over at the Challenge Blog, hope you're inspired to play along this month...we can't wait to be dazzled by your glitter and glitz!

Creative Moments ...Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater...

Good morning...can anyone tell me where last week went??? I blinked and it was gone! Now that IS scary....
The new challenge starting over at Creative Moments has the optional twist of 'Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater.'...this title made me laugh remembering how my daughter loved that nursery rhyme when she was small, it was the look of delight on her face when she shouted gleefully..'up the chimney he did SHOVE her!!!!
I used this great  image from Bugaboo, one of our lovely sponsors this month, it's called Silhouette skull tree and is available here. I printed out the image, then used distress inks to colour the background and Cosmic Shimmer ink to colour the eyes. The background DP is a freebie digi paper, don't know where from but I love it! The witch in the corner is  stamped, fussy cut and adhered with sticky pads and I added a couple of tiny laser cut pumpkins. Really quick and easy to make!
Our sponsors this challenge are BugabooCrafty Sentiments and My Stitch Back in Twine so a great opportunity to win some lovely digis ....remember the theme is optional, you can make anything you please!
Thanks for visiting!

Happy!

Good morning, There's a fun new challenge starting over at Fab 'n' Funky today, hosted by our lovely Jools who has set the theme of 'Happy'....the word happy must be visible on the front of your card. ...so loads of scope there! We're sponsored this week by the fabulous Bugaboo, who allowed the DT each to pick a digi. I chose to use this cute little elephant Peaches Balloons to make my card as it's my future DIL's birthday today and she loves elephants! The image is coloured with copics , loads of sparkle on the balloons.  The 'happy' die is Hero Arts.
Thanks for calling by today, don't forget to take a look at the Fab N Funky Challenge Blog., there's some great inspiration from the rest of Team Funky!
Have a lovely day

Sweet Stampin' - Babies

Back again with my DT card for our lovely new challenge at Sweet Stampin'...this week it's 'Babies' sponsored  this time by Freckled Fawn
Don't know why, but I always struggle with baby cards, I'm never that happy with the way they turn out and  it's not as if I don't like babies! My daughter often refers to me as 'the baby grabber'! Have to admit if there's a new baby in the family I don't like to share...I just love the feel and smell of them and their beautiful innocent little faces...irresistible!
I used a Mo Manning cutie to make my card, coloured with copics.
There's some lovely inspiration from the rest of the team over at the Challenge Blog, and we'd love to have you share your baby makes with us this week.

Have a great weekend

Crafty Calendar October Challenge

Good morning...first Saturday of the month and that means it's time for a new challenge at  Crafty Calendar and as it's October our theme is Halloween. We're sponsored this time by the fabulous All Dressed Up and the team were given some adorable images to play with...no scary cards from us this time! I chose to use this cute little chap, All dressed up for Mummy, he's so sweet!.
I coloured him with copics then fussy cut him. The big letters were cut on my sadly neglected cricut. I just added some spider web die cuts. Thanks for stopping by today, hope you'll hop across to  Crafty Calendar and join the fun!
Be back later!

Hey there!

Good morning,it's time for a new challenge at Creative Moments and this fortnight the optional theme is 'use 2 or more pattern papers'. We're sponsored by Creative Bug Digital Stamps and Kitty Bee Designs, so some cute digis for our two lucky winners!.
I chose to use this adorable little dragon from Kitty Bee, 'Kawaii, year of the Dragon' available here.
I used snippets of patterned paper from my ever-increasing 'scrap drawer'. The little dragon's head and body  is paper pieced with a mauve scap that reminded me of scales. I cut one of the circles from the green spotted paper and popped the dragon in the aperture, then mounted it on top of the black dotty paper with sticky pads to add a little dimension. The small black circles were added randomly (to hide an inky fingerprint!!!!)
I made a second using the image too....pretty self explanatory!

Thanks for visiting today, it'd great to have you play along at Creative Moments this time...remember it's anything goes so no need to follow the theme if you prefer not to! For more inspiration from my teamies just click here....they'd love a visit from you too!

Spread your wings

Hello, I'm back from holiday after a lovely week in the Cotswolds, what a beautiful part England it is! We had a restful, stress free week admiring the picturesque towns and villages in the area, enjoying delicious meals in the local hostelries. (Strangely all my clothes seem to have shrunk during the week, must be something to do with the change of water :). Mathilda, our Great Dane enjoyed herself too...she is a complete celebrity wherever we take her, lapping up the attention and admiration as her due...no exaggeration -one day over 40 people took photos of her and we lose count of how many people stop to stroke her! Here's a photo of her taking a little time out to smell the flowers!

and here she is proving that no matter how much you enjoy a holiday there's nothing like sleeping in your own bed!

I made the card before I went away with a couple of challenges in mind, but didn't get around to blogging it. The image is one of my favourites from Delicious Doodles, and was coloured some time ago. The cogs and clock are die cuts, embossed and distressed. Sentiment stamps are Finnabair the wings are grunge board, lightly embossed with gold EP. It was a fun card to make!

Thanks for looking
